Program of your Kutzig daytrip

Embark on the Kutzig in Colmar, our red open-top bus (28 seats), for an amazing day on the Wine Route. Let yourself be transported with the wind in your hair (Kutzig in Alsatian!) towards Château du Haut Koenigsbourg for a guided tour. Perched nearly 800 meters high on a rocky spur, the castle offers a magnificent panorama of the Alsace Plain, the rolling Vosges Mountains, and even the Black Forest in Germany! Built in the 12th century, the castle has witnessed centuries of European conflicts and rivalries between lords, kings, and emperors.

You will then enjoy a Tartes Flambées lunch (Flammekueche) on the Wine Route.

Still with the Kutzig, continue along the Wine Route to Bergheim and then to Ribeauvillé. Free time in Ribeauvillé will allow you to admire its medieval fortifications. The town still retains part of its wall and some of its defensive towers, including the “Butchers’ Tower,” named after the Butchers’ Guild. The main street and its picturesque neighborhoods, lined with abundantly flowered houses (from the 15th to the 18th century), are dotted with squares adorned with Renaissance-style fountains.

Continue to Riquewihr and take a touristic train ride through Riquewihr and its vineyard. With its harmonious winegrowers’ houses and mansions, its belfry, and medieval walls, Riquewihr is considered the Pearl of the Alsatian Vineyard. You will stop at a wine cellar to taste some delicious Alsatian wines.

Road back to Colmar with the Kutzig.

It is possible to modify your departure location within a 10 km radius of Colmar (at no extra charge) and other departure locations upon request.
