Head to the Sundgau, the most southern part of Alsace, land of rivers and ponds, on the “Fried Carp Route”, the local culinary specialty! After the unique visit of an ostrich farm, you will share a typical regional meal composed of local fried fish and french fries, the Alsatian Fish & Chips! In the afternoon, meet a beekeeper who will introduce you to his world and let you taste his delicious products (honey, gingerbread, nougat…). An authentic day full of completely diverse encounters awaits you!

Program of your Kutzig daytrip

Departure from Colmar with the Kutzig bus, our red open-top bus (28 seats) towards the Sundgau, a territory in the extreme south of Alsace, where you will travel through its rolling landscapes to Sonderdorf.

You will visit a unique ostrich farm. Guided tour of the ostrich and emu breeding farm. Explanation of preparation of ostrich meat on the farm. First approach to the large birds in the parks and presentation of by-products (eggs, leather, cosmetics).

Or alternatively: Guided tour of the Farming Museum in Oltingue, where you will feel the deep heart of Sundgau. Witness to the different construction styles of the region, it brings together in charmingly arranged rooms, many pieces of furniture, dishes, kitchen utensils evoking the memory of a rural population. To discover; the large bread oven in the bakery, an old staircase with each step made from a tree trunk, cob walls, a collection of kougelhopf molds…

Hair in the win, continue on the “Fried Carp Route” onboard the Kutzig bus. You will have lunch at the restaurant to taste the famous Fried Carp, emblematic of southern Alsace.

In the afternoon, you will head to Traubach and stop at the Rucher du Vallon to discover the world of beekeeping and a guided tour of the workshops. You will discover various farm products; acacia, flowers, lime, chestnut, fir, gingerbread, vinegar… The visit is followed by a tasting.

Or alternatively: Gourmet stop at an artisanal biscuit factory in Retzwiller for a guided tour followed by a tasting. Wide choice of truffles, pralines, and petits fours, not to mention the traditional macarons, aniseed breads, shortbread…

Road back to Colmar in the Kutzig.
