Day 1 / Alsace, land of history

Arrival in Alsace. Visit of the Hartmannswillerkopf, located on a rocky spur in the Vosges mountains, overlooking the Alsatian plain. A National Monument commemorates the armed struggle that took place here during the First World War, when Hartmannswillerkopf was considered to be a vital strategic position by both the French and German armies. Continue to Eguisheim and free time in this charming little village with a unique circular layout. Check-in at the hotel for 3 nights. Dinner.

Day 2 / Breath-taking view on the Vosges Mountain roads and tasty specialties

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Munster valley for a day in the mountains. You will be amazed by the view over Alsace and the rolling mountains. Visit of a cheese farm and cheese tasting. Traditional “Marcaire” lunch. (Rich and tasty menu traditionally served in farms). Arrival in The Linge Memorial. Take a trip back to the First World War with a visit to this carefully preserved memorial site and walk through the trenches of this famous mountain battle of 1915. On the way back to the hotel, stop in Kaysersberg for some free time to discover this charming village surrounded by mountains and vineyards. End the day with the visit of a wine cellar including wine tasting. Dinner.

Day 3 / Alsace-Moselle Memorial & Former concentration camp

Breakfast at the hotel. Immerse yourself in the history of Alsace and Moselle from 1870 to today with faithful reconstructions in the famous Alsace-Moselle Memorial. Movies, documents, film sets to cross the wall of History, to exchange, to think… Lunch. Departure to the Former concentration camp Natzweiler Struthof, a historical remembrance site to visit with full respect for the victims, to never forget and never repeat same mistakes. Dinner.

Day 4 / Verdun, land of Memories

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Verdun, sadly famous for its battlefield. Full day guided tour of Verdun Battlefield. You’ll walk with a guide and hear all the First World War history related to Verdun on a route around the fortifications, trenches, and monuments. Lunch. Visit of the artisanal production of the famous “Dragées de Verdun” including tasting. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner.

Day 5 / Reims, the martyr city

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Reims, city of Coronations famous for its cathedral. During the First World War, 80% of the city was destroyed. Reims Cathedral, a major Gothic masterpiece where the kings of France were consecrated, was severely damaged in 1914. Lunch in a Brasserie. Guided tour of Fort de la Pompelle Museum. Its exceptional collection of everyday objects used by soldiers will immerse you in an emotional place of remembrance. Visit of a House of Champagne and champagne tasting. Check in at the hotel for 2 nights. Dinner.

Day 6 / Marne 14-18 Center & Chalon-en-Champagne

Breakfast at the hotel. Marne 14-18 center is dedicated to the events that occurred during the First World War on the front lines of the Champagne region. You will discover different themed areas which boast a rich illustrated collection and numerous accounts left by soldiers and also civilians. Lunch. Arrival in the charming city of Chalon-en-Champagne. Commented tour on a small boat that will allow you to admire the many sites and monuments of the city from an unusual angle. Free time in Reims. Dinner.

Day 7 / Paris, city of lights

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Paris. Lunch in a parisian brasserie. Explore Paris from its best avenue: the Seine River. An original way to visit Paris’ most beautiful monuments from a « bateau-mouche » boat (The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie, the Musée d’Orsay…). Climb on top of the Eiffel tower (possibility to climb the steps or get on the elevator). Free time to do some shopping. Check-in at your hotel, dinner.

Day 8 / Departure Day

Breakfast at the hotel. End of our services.
