Day 1 / Arrival Day
Arrival in Verdun. Check-in at the hotel and dinner.
Day 2 / Verdun Battlefields
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the Verdun Memorial located in the heart of the Battlefields on the very spot, where a train station was destroyed during the war. The Memorial is one of the major World War I European museums. Lunch. Guided tour of the Battlefields where many French and German soldiers have fought from February to November 1916. Guided visit of Fort Vaux or Fort Douaumont followed by a visit of the Douaumont Ossuary (with movie projection). Road to Metz and check-in at the hotel and dinner.
Day 3 / Metz
Breakfast at the hotel. Sight-seeing tour of Metz to discover the imperial quarter, the amphitheatre, the Pompidou centre and more, … Then, pedestrian visit of the Saint-Etienne cathedral Cathedral, famous for its stained glass windows carrying the names of artists such as Valentin Bousch, Marc Chagall, Jacques Villon, Roger Bissière…. Lunch. Discover Metz through a different lens! Hop on a solar boat for a cruise down the rivers encircling Metz. Free time in the city centre. Dinner.
Day 4 / Nancy
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Nancy, the Dukes of Lorraine capital city. Step a foot in history with a guided tour passing by the Place Stanislas and Place des Carrières where you can really notice the last Duke’s influence. Lunch in a wonderful Art Nouveau building, the famous Brasserie Excelsior classified as a historical monument. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner.
Day 5 / Departure Day
Breakfast at the hotel. End of our services.
Customize this itinerary:
- Enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese board on a boat
- Instead of the solar boat tour you can visit the Pompidou centre, a branch of the Pompidou arts centre in Paris
- Discover Art Nouveau in Nancy through the visit of the Art Nouveau Museum or the Villa Majorelle, old Art Nouveau family house
- If you would like to start or end your trip in Paris, we can organize it for you as well
